Labour Workforce and Relations for an EPC industry
The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:
1- Develop and Manage Labour Strategies: Formulate and implement strategies for effective labour management, including recruitment, deployment, and retention of both skilled and unskilled workers to meet project demands.
2- Build a Reliable Sub-Contractor Network: Identify, evaluate, and onboard subcontractors to create a robust and dependable supply chain of labour to meet the diverse needs of various construction sites.
3- Ensure Compliance with Labour Laws: Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant labour laws and regulations, including minimum wage, workplace safety, and working hours, and proactively address any compliance issues.
4- Improve Workforce Efficiency: Develop initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency, such as training programs, skill development workshops, and performance management strategies.
5- Handle Labour Relations and Conflict Resolution: Act as the point of contact for labour disputes and grievances, ensuring fair treatment and swift resolution of issues to maintain a harmonious work environment.
6- Coordinate with Site Teams: Collaborate closely with project managers and site supervisors to understand labour requirements, manage workforce allocations, and ensure smooth project execution.
7- Track and Report Labour Metrics: Develop and maintain reporting systems to track key metrics such as labour costs, utilization rates, absenteeism, and turnover, and provide insights to the executive team.
8- Negotiate Labour Contracts: Lead negotiations for labour contracts with subcontractors and labour unions to ensure cost-effectiveness, fairness, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
9- Drive Health and Safety Standards: Promote a culture of safety and compliance at all levels, ensuring that all labour practices adhere to NCCCL’s safety-first principles.
10- Foster Relationships with External Stakeholders: Build and maintain positive relationships with labour unions, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
